Dragging files on tabs

Post by *alexjak »

Hi,

TC supports dragging and dropping files on different tabs. However, when you drag a file on a tab different from the current one, you have no clue what the tab points to except tab's title.

It would be nice to be able to be able to see some more info before deciding whether to drop file on that tab. It could be either hint with full path name, or TC could (temporary?) switch to that tab if mouse is hovering over it for some time.

Kind regards,

Alex

I don't support.

You easily can switch to the tarrget file before dragging files there. Or you can hover the mouse over the target tab. As to me, I need d'n'd-ing files once a week, may be less.

It would take tooooooo long time for tabs with:
- large number of files;
- complex custom columns;
- remote computers;
- thumbnails;
- on slow machines;
and so forth...

I think tooltips with tab paths would be useful when dragging - currently TC already shows tooltips when hovering tab headers with mouse.

yes, I agree - switching could be slow. Hint with the full path, on the other hand, wouldn't.

I agree that I could switch to another tab beforehand - but here I was talking about the case when I didn't. And with drag and dropping, when all programs are maximized, it can take some work to do the dragging. It is nice to be able not to abandon the operation to switch the tab and then start dragging all over again.
