SynPlus replaement

Post by *pakosan »

Good folk,

SynPlus is great but a little buggy and no longer developed.

Is there an alternative to use as TC's internal editor(cm_SrcQuickview)?

I've searched without any luck. Any leads, links, etc, are most appreciated.

SynWrite looks like a good alternative. At least, I'm using it now for long time instead of SynPlus and don't regret. :) Though I don't use its editing capabilities (for these I prefer external editor which is much more powerful).

Thanks for the reply.

Can SynWrite be used as TC's internal editor(cm_SrcQuickview)?

I only need it for simple edits... it's just that I need to do them often and an external editor is too much overhead.

Why not try? :) It's possible edit files using SynWrite in Quick View mode, but I don't know what special requirements you might have.

Installing of nearly all plugins in TC is as easy as pie. Just download the archive and open it inside TC. TC will suggest to install it — just agree. If necessary, customize the order of loading the WLX plugins in TC settings dialog (Plugins page) so that SynWrite was loaded prior to SynPlus, or even delete SynPlus from the list at all.
