[X64] Shortcut keys in some dialogues not working

Post by *tomkaten »

Some dialogues don't have the shortcut keys enabled. Start Menu applications, for instance, which I use extensively, don't start with the first letter in their name, as they used to.

I've noticed this as well in the "delete" dialogue boxes. I used to press SHIFT+DEL, then "A" for all, but pressing "A" now does nothing.

The Directory Hotlist initials still work though.

I can confirm the problem in the start menu, thanks!

What do you mean with "delete" dialog boxes?

You're welcome. And I admit, that was a bit cryptic, sorry :)

Try deleting a non-empty folder... You'll get the delete confirmation dialogue, with "D" for delete, "A" for all, "S" for skip and "C" for cancel. Well, those shortcuts don't work.

Thanks for taking the time to improve the best file manager ever written, Chris. Rock on !

Cannot confirm. Here the shortcut keys still don't work in the "dir not empty" dialog. I tried both English and Russian interface languages, neither worked.

Strange, it works fine here with English and German. Maybe we don't talk about the same dialog box? I mean the one when I try to delete a non-empty folder with Shift+Del. It shows error "The directory xyz is not empty! Do you want to delete it with all subfolders?". Now I can press for example "S" to skip it. That didn't work in beta 1.

I recorded a video with 8.0β2-x64:
Video/EXE (player/codec included)
Video/AVI (needs MSU Screen Capture Lossless Codec)

What I do in this video:
1. Start TC 8.0β2-x64 with fresh INI (not recorded).
2. Navigate to the TEMP directory (not recorded).
3. Set the cursor to the non-empty test directory, press Shift+Del — confirmation dialog appears.
4. Press Tab several times to indicate visualization of the keyboard actions.
5. Press Enter to confirm my intentions.
6. Another confirmation dialog appears (that the directory is non-empty).
7. I press the "D" key several times (indicated on the keyboard map as orange button), then press "A", then "S" — nothing works.
8. Then I try Alt+A, Alt+S, Alt+D, Alt+C hotkeys — do not work either.
9. Navigate to the Skip button using Tab, then press Enter — it works.

Now in 8.0β4 the hotkeys work as expected, so I confirm the fix.
