[x64 8.0b1] program postition

Post by *Laszlo »

The program window isn't at the same position as the 32 bit one. For these numbers:

[1920x1080 (8x16)]
maximized=0
x=358
y=78
dx=982
dy=950

The program was like 100 pixel left. Lister window too.

This is unforuntely a Lazarus problem which I couldn't fix. The current position is as close as I could get to the configured coordinates. Lazarus seems to add/remove some pixels, but I couldn't find out how it calculates that.

Cannot confirm, here just the size is a bit different. If you start both the 32-bit and 64-bit version, they overlap completely at the top, but the 64-bit version is a bit smaller (height).

Maybe a picture can help:

I marked the difference with the red arrow. Both of the Total Commanders use the same ini file. 80 pixel difference.

Very strange indeed - do you use a multiple monitor setup?

No, just one, but the taskbar is in the left. Maybe thats the cause?

I can confirm something strange too. I set position to (320,292) and size to 960x704 (bottom right corner of screen) and then restart TC. Now I get position (320,292) and size 960x693... Even saving configuration before restarting doesn't help.

It's a Lazarus bug - I found out now that it seems to forget to count the main menu height. Beta 1 uses some other value which isn't exactly the same.
