Merge descript.ion for TC 8 x32 and x64

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Merge descript.ion for TC 8 x32 and x64

Post by *EricB »

Hi,

In some other thread it was suggested to install the x32 and x64 versions of TC 8.0 in the same folder. I like that approach, especially for portability purposes. However, since there is only partial overlap in files for both versions, the last installed (well, extracted in my case) version of descript.ion overwrites the earlier one, so some files in the TC folder are not 'tooltipped'.

How about merging both versions of descript.ion into one, so both x32 and x64 versions are identical? IIRC an entry in descript.ion which has no corresponding file does no harm whatsoever.

a) this is no bug so you choose the wrong forum :!:
b) if you extract the files anyway (like i do) why not merge them yourself doesnt take long and you only have to do it once anyway...
Hoecker sie sind raus!

Sir Silva,

Indeed this is not really a bug, but I saw some other installer related threads in this forum so I thought to best post it here. No problem to move it to the Suggestions forum.
And in reply of your second remark: of course I've done the merger already by hand... but for people who use the installer executables it might come in handy.
