[x64] b4 Ding Noise when Move File

Post by *romulous »

There is a ding noise when you select a file, hit F6 to move it and then hit Enter. Noise is not present in v7.56a or x32 version of Beta 4.

So, you did this:

1. Click on a file to put the rectangle around it.
2. Hit F6. Up pops the move dialog.
3. Hit Enter to move the file to the other pane. Noise should occur, it happens every time here.

Clean ini = no ding

Following ini = ding

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
AutoComplete=0
And it also affects copying and launching commands from command line.

Same over here, i cancelled it via control panel -> sound -> etc. There is a list added by TC32 with events to link to sound. I'm sorry I have another language version of windows. And my English is not that good.

Sorry, no sound here even with AutoComplete=0.

Maybe you have defined a sound via Configuration - Options - Misc for "File operation complete"?

Initially I didn't have any TC sound events in control panel and was wondering where lebans above got them. :) They were added only after I clicked Configure button for Custom sounds in TC's configuration.

But that's not it. When I select some sound for Copy/Move complete, I get both my selected sound and the ding. With move it sounded like they play at the same time, because it was quick. But with copy and something larger, so it takes at least few seconds, selected sound plays after it finishes, but the ding plays at the beginning, right after progress window is shown.

To rule everything else out, I tested it even with clean Windows (Windows 7 x64 RTM, no updates, all defaults, nothing changed at all, installed in VirtualBox) and clean ini (except AutoComplete=0 of course).

@sob: I think indeed that I ever had used the button within the configuration panel of TC32. Disable these added events worked for me ;-)

Not me - the same ini file on v7.56a, v8 x32 and v8 x64. Only x64 has this problem.

Fix confirmed for copy and move.

Not fixed for launching commands, but as this thread wasn't about it (I just mentioned it), here's a new one: [x64] Ding sound when launching command from command line
