Crashes in Win8

Post by *s_help »

TC8b4 x86 and TC 7.56(a) crash quite often in Windows 8 Dev. Preview (32 bit) when deleting with Shift+F8. Please see one of the report below, this is the 7.56a version. The user has Admin rights.
Let us know the solution pls or correct it if it is a bug.
Thx

Unfortunately the delete to recycle bin function on Windows 8 seems to be faulty.

I finally found the time to install Windows 8 32-bit! I had to install Virtualbox because it crashed with Vmware 7. I didn't buy 8 yet because a new Vmware version is always such a big hassle to install.

I couldn't test with 64-bit yet - does anyone have Windows 8 64-bit installed and can test whether deleting to recycle bin still causes a crash, please?

I have. I reproduced the crash in TC 8.0β4 x32 in Windows 8 x64, and can no longer reproduce it in 8.0β5 x32.

However TC 8.0β4 x64 does not crash here at all, so I cannot test whether the problem is really gone in 64-bit TC version.

Great, so the error was never present in the 64-bit version.

Can anyone also reproduce the fix in Windows 8 32-bit, please?

I can only confirm the fix in Win8x64. Sorry.
If it is the same I reported then it is fixed.

Tried with VistaDelete=1 and 0.
