PRO version

I found in the web (www) some patch which changes total commander 6.01 into PRO version.
Is there a PRO version of Total comander?

I bought licence about 3-4 years ago but I found file containg this information "Install the app, run the patch to enable PRO features. After that just copy supplied wincmd.key into it's installation directory!"
I don't need key file because I have my own one but what is the "PRO features?"

Normally ZIP Encryption is not availible in TC (beacuse of Swiss cryptographic laws) but by using a modified version of wcmzip32.dll (also called cryptozip dll) encryption can be made possible.
The PRO version injects some code into TC that also makes encryption possible. (so you don't need the modified wcmzip32.dll)

So the 'PRO' version has no real difference in use and does not add any special features that were not availible before.

You are right I've found such a version too, but I've also found a version with not only ZIP Encryption included but also with full registration so Hacker is also right - it can be cracked version.

Just to make my previous post more clear:
the term 'Pro Version' was introduced by the cracking scene. So all 'pro' versions will be cracked versions of TC.

Besides cracked versions being illegal because they remove the Shareware registration screen, and that they are not fair to wards are beloved Mr. Ghisler (and not good for your conscious), also think about this:
- Cracks remove TC's internal checksums (that are used to see if TC is not corrupted by a virus, bad disk of bad memory). So you lose this protection.
- Any small mistake from the cracker could lead to a malfunctioning TC and lead to data loss.

• That allows you to use the software, and to get all updates for free from the TC site; that doesn't allow you to modify the EXE, since there are international © rules.
• TC is NOT Open Source / Public Licence.

• You can do that you want for your own copy, but please don't ask for hacking here.

I'm not asking for hacking. My question was about existin two versions: normal and Pro.

As I am not living in Switzerland but in Argentina - where can I get that modified wcmzip32.dll legaly??

The usage is legal in Switzerland, too. It's just not allowed to be exported within an application.
