Noreread seems not to work

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Noreread seems not to work

Post by *Greylock »

Hello
I have one network station mapped to a letter (S)
The configuration option Noreread=S used to make updating any panel showing S faster. This seems not to work in 8.0B7

Many regards

Noreread is just for the case where you switch the focus away from TC and back. Does TC still reread S: when you do that?

Sorry my bad. I though that this helped rendering time when loading the folder list.

No it does not re-read when changing focus in and out..

The slowness i experience is in "redrawing" the folders on the network share whenever i change the folder, this seems alot slow now than before. This could of course be due to OS (from XP to W7)

The slowness is also experienced when "scrolling" within folders to folders not currently listed. (in brief mode)

After i have "shown" the name of all the folders once, scrolling is faster, but still "gets stuck" every now and then.

Changing in and out of the folder will cause the delay again. (I guess the cached folderlist is wiped on changedirectory)
