Hi,
I'm try to use TC x64 from 2-3 weeks, and I think, beta version x64 has bug with FTP client. When I uploading many files (about 500-1000 small files), TC suspended.
I checked it on two computers with Win 7 x64 Home Premium Polish.

Hello, pbas.
I do not experience any interruption of the ftp connection. Yet, the T.C. 8.0ß9 64-bit FTP client seems to act differently from the T.C. 8.0ß9 32-bit FTP client.
Local machine:
Server 2008 R2
Total Commander 8.0ß9 32-bit (built-in ftp-client plus sftp plugin v1.1 32-bit)
Total Commander 8.0ß9 64-bit (built-in ftp-client plus sftp plugin v1.1 64-bit)
FTP server:
HP-UX 11.31 64-bit
local FTP settings:
+ auto-reconnect off
+ passive mode
transferred files:
999 copies of T.C. keyboard.txt, each 10 KB, i.e. 10 MB total, in one folder
sftp-transfers:
were just done to see how well it performed compared to ftp, because in the past my experience was that the sftp plugin was much slower than the ftp-client.
testing results:
Kind regards,
Karl

testing results:
- ftp 64-bit: 4:00 min. jumpy progress, pauses inbetween (reproducible)
- ftp 32-bit: 4:00 min. smooth progress, no pauses noticeable
- sftp 64-bit: 2:45 min. smooth progress
- sftp 32-bit: 2:55 min. smooth progress
Kind regards,
Karl
I've been seeing something similar - but it appears to mostly be a lag in screen updates (both in the dialog box and in the running log).
I can't speak to the overall speed - haven't tested that.
(I also am uploading a large number of small files (typically batches of 1,000 to 3,000 text files, with an average size of about 12k.)
Its been showing since early versions of the 64 bit beta.
Win 7 x64; TC 8.0ß9 64bit

Hello, pbas. Hello, davidc2.
Having read all 3 posts once again, I assume that indeed we all see the same phenomen in Total Commander 8.0 64-bit. Just we use different words to express it.
Indeed the problem seems to affect the T.C. 64-bit screen update.
The upload times of T.C. 8.0 beta 32-bit and T.C. 8.0 beta 64-bit are the same. If times differ then only by a few seonds, because the load on the FTP server will vary.
This stronlgy suggests that the FTP upload itself must be working fine in the 64-bit version, too.
Only the screen does not smoothly reflect the progress. The 64-bit interface is unresponsive for a few seconds, gives the impression Total Commander were "suspended" every once in a while.
Kind regards,
Karl
