Dropping move to archive does not erase descript.ion section

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Dropping move to archive does not erase descript.ion section

Post by *brahman »

Hi,

dropping with right click a file into an archive in the same pane does not erase the corresponding section of that file in descript.ion (Beta12).

Copying comments is not supported when packing or unpacking. Instead, please pack/unpack the descript.ion files themselves. Currently there are no plans to support archive comments.

I think you misunderstood:

Dropping w. right click means *moving* the file to the archive.

When the file is erased from the folder after the move operation is finished, the corresponding section of that file can still be found in descript.ion, even though the file itself disappeared.

No, I understood you correctly, but you didn't understand me: When you move files into a ZIP, the descript.ion file is not touched. Why? The idea is that you move the descript.ion file itself (as a whole) into the zip too.
