[8.00b17a] Single click on pathbar is not working anymore

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[8.00b17a] Single click on pathbar is not working anymore

Post by *Biozynotiker »

You can't edit a path in the "pathbar" with a single mouse click anymore. (32/64)
Doubleclick on the "pathbar" seems to work correctly.
The last known working version is the v8.00b15, as far as i remember.

Edit: The breadcrumb bar is disabled, maybe this helps a bit.

Hi, I can't confirm this. Have you tried to set "InplaceRenamePath=1" in your wincmd.ini? BTW, what do you mean by "doubleclick on the pathbar"? In my case it shows Directory hotlist.

Your are right, the "InplaceRenamePath" is the reason, because it doesn't exist in my ini file.
I disabled the "InplaceRename" and if there is no "InplaceRenamePath", the default is set to 0 instead of 1.

So i must ask this again, why there is so much dependencies in all that config settings, and why we can't configure the most of it via GUI?

Well, I can't speak for the author, but TC is a very configurable software and there is no way one could put all those settings in some configuration window.
And this is the way how most of the complex software deals with it. Even web browsers have a standard option dialog (with a few important settings) AND a hidden webpage for setting everything manually (usually just a nicer version of their ini file).

On the other hand, this specific setting ("InplaceRenamePath") surprised me too when I came across it for the first time. Is there a reason why it isn't combined with "InplaceRename"? Or at least renamed, because is has actually nothing to do with renaming - it is used to change paths.

This behaviour is intentional AND docmented. See the help:
The default is the value of InplaceRename, if present, otherwise 1.
