TC hangs when viewing large zip files

Hey all,

I have been making some backups using Winzip 9 with resulting zip files in the range of 1GB-14GB. All files can be opened and manipulated if using Winzip. When using TC's internal quickview on these files those under 2GB everything is OK. If larger than 2GB TC seems to hang indefinately.

Is this a limitation of the internal zip handler?

• Unfortunately, yes currently if you use v. 6.01 and older. This issue has been already discussed, you could find topics from the "Search" (works sometimes...)
• However, the real limit is 4 GB. That limit can be reached in v. 6.02 ß3. A bug limited the Unzip at 2GB in previous versions.
• An external ZIP can be set too... Many users are waiting for an improvement of this handling for ZIP-sizes bigger than 4 GB.

Could you try those between 2 and 4 GB with TC 6.02 beta 3, please? Thise over 4 GB should also work, but only if they don't contain individual files larger than 2 GB.

Thanks for the quick reply. With TC 6.02B3 that zip files under 4GB are ok now. Zips over 4GB even with no individual file over 2GB still do not work.

That's odd, TC explicitly handles the new pkware extension for such files. What program was used to create the large ZIP file? Could you send me the last 200 kbytes of the file by e-mail (NOT more!), and the exact size in bytes?
