LAN Plugin - Arbeitsgruppe

Post by *Schweini »

Hallo Christian

Meldung: Incorrect User or Passwort.

Beispiel:
Rechner 1 VISTA: Arbeitsgruppe anstatt Workgroup -> geht alles
Rechner 2 W7: Arbeitsgruppe anstatt Workgroup -> geht alles

I don't speak German, sorry...

I would like to browse the network with LAN plugin.
If I don't know the name of the shared folders...
Is it possible?

If I am not mistaken earlier versions of the plugin could do that...

Should I use an older version? How could I get one?

I mean I also don't know the connected servers' and klients' names. I just connected to a 'new' network.

Thanks

There is an experimental function built in to browse workgroups: You need to create a new connection and specify the workgroup like this:
/workgroupname

including the slash at the beginning.

Thank you!
It works.
If I don't know even the name of the workgroup?
If I'm not mistaken the late beta versions could browse without any name.

Unfortunately not, sorry. I'm not aware of any function to browse for workgroup names.

ES File Browser has this feature, does it not?

I got ESFB to work immediately, whereas I'm struggling with TC+LAN plug-in.

Then use that.

Sorry, not even Windows can do it, you have to set a workgroup in the settings (default name: WORKGROUP). Maybe ES is just looking for a group with that default name.

Since 2.01 I cannot connect to my local LAN with the "/workgroup" setting. There was no problem even with 2.0

Could you please check with which LAN plugin version it still works? You can find older plugin versions here:
https://plugins.ghisler.com/aplg/

Please try at least
tcandroidlan_2beta3.apk
tcandroidlan_2beta2.apk
tcandroidlan_2beta1.apk

I do not have this problem here, so it would be helpful to find out with which version it stopped working for you.

What error message do you get?
