Open/Append Selection from File with Button Bar/Start Menu

Post by *pdavit »

From TC's help file concerning the command field in "Change button bar":
[face=arial]
7. appendtabs tabfile.tab appends the folder tabs stored in the file tabfile.tab to the current tab header
8. opentabs tabfile.tab same, but replaces the current tabs with these new tabs.

[/face]

I love the ability to save tabs to a file and even more to save a selection to a file. For the latter case though we cannot directly call from the button bar or the start menu a saved selection but only call cm_LoadSelectionFromFile as an internal command which will prompt the user to select a file lacking in this way a direct automation similar to saved tabs.

So, it would be useful to be able to load/append a previously saved selection from a file. So, we could see something like the following two commands:
[face=arial]
9. appendselection selection_lst.sel -> appends the stored selection list in the file selection_lst.sel to the current active filelist selection. If no selection is active to append the result should be as in 10 below.
10. openselection selection_lst.sel -> same, but replaces the current selection (if any) with the one stored in the file selection_lst.sel to the current active filelist.
[/face]
Of course the functionality should be incorporated via the Start Menu also as it regularly is the case.

Good idea I think, it doesn't hurt me. :)

Putting "feature request" or "REQ" in topic title helps sometimes to attract the "right" people. On first sight it's not very obvious what your intention is so many people have skipped at once I think.
At least that's what I did on first sight...

Well, it's a nice idea but I personally don't need it and prefer other requests to be implemented. What standard answer am I supposed to give in this case? WIANIBIPDNIAPORTBI? :)

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
