font problems

Hello !

Chinese characters everywhere... I saw the same thing years ago, while I attempted to install an utility to show these characters.
I'd too in Windows (3.1 at this time) and all programs menus.
• Have you this elsewhere in Windows (what Windows, please...?), or only in TC ?
• That could be caused too when visiting some Web pages, which install such fonts without prompting you...?

• It's possible from a virus / worm too. Did you scan your H D ?
You could restart under DOS, and use the F-Prot AV for DOS (free). Currently, some new viruses can lock the Win AV, but they can't lock the DOS AV. Available at : http://www.f-prot.com
