Inconsequent behaviur of Folder Tab's "memory"

Post by *petermad »

There seem to me to be some degree of inconsistency of what options the Folder Tabs can "remember".

Options like Sorting (type, ext. etc) an Full, Brief and Tree view are kept for each Tab - but why not File mask (all files, programs and custom) and viewing of File Comments? - This goes for both Tab options within a TC-session and for tabs stored in a file.

Sometime - but not always - the options of Brief or Tree view are not stored in the *.tab files for the active window at saving time. I haven't (yet) found a pattern for when and under what circumstances this happens.

Another thing - it would be awfully convenient wit a cm_openTabFromFile command. I have my TC set up to NOT save direcories on exit (Configuration - Options - Operation - Save on exit) - and I usually don't use tabs - but if I want to open a tab-set from a file, I first have to press Ctrl-T, then right-click on the new tab and then choose "Load tabs from file, replace tabs" - a bit akward in my opinion. With a cm_openTabFromFile command this could be done with one click.

Aren't OPENTABS and APPENDTABS enough?

Not quite - I would like to be able to integrate it into the menu - OPENTABS and APENDTABS only works for buttons and in the Start menu.

But I guess I could put it in the start menu and then assign a short-cut for it there to meet my needs.

Thanks.
