Hi,
In TC6.01 and early when I viewed the network neightborhood I could see all the computers on the LAN for my domain.
In 6.02 I see one entry: "Entire Neighborhood", if I go into it I see "Microsoft Windows Network", if I go into it I see 3 entries. When I go into the entry for the domain I am on, I finally see all the computers I used to see at the top level.
(I am using WinNT)
Any comments/simlar problems, anyone?
Thanks,
Hamish

Hi Claude,
Thanks for the reply.
As suggested in the other post I will set up an icon to cd to the computers that I am interested in.
However I would be interested to know why 6.02 shows the network neighborhood differently to 6.01... especially if there was some option to change the behaviour back.
Regards.
Hamish

For XP ?

Hi again, Hamish !
• Glad to hear that this workaround is convenient for you.
- You can get the explicit icons for this in a lot I drawn from my Web-page (button "www" here below) Menu >>> Total Commander >> English Page, look for:
tcm-plus.zip at the end of the topic... Some files are useless for you, to sort, indeed. Downloadable from that page only -my I.P. doesn't allow direct archives downloads-... For free, of course.
- Since NT is very similar with XP, you get that feature too...
• Except I mistake, I don't know any option in the settings to come back as previously (it should show that this feature is really embedded in the program-EXE).
• Maybe to ask for add in the Author's wish-list ?
Kind regards,
Claude

• Nothing has changed under Win9x... I guess that the Author has planned this feature for users running Win XP-a lot currently- (not sure, but it seems logical). However I would be interested to know why 6.02 shows the network neighborhood differently to 6.01... especially if there was some option to change the behaviour back.

TC doesn't create the content of the Network Neighborhood (except for the file system plugins). The nethood contents are requested from Windows, via OLE2 (for the experts: IShellFolder enumeration). Therefore it depends on the Windows version what items are present in Nethood...
