First of all, thank you Ghisler for implementing this feature (select item by its icon in brief view)!

Now in beta3 you can select an item in the 2nd, 3rd, etc.. column in brief view by clicking on its icon. The problem is that you can select only one of them because you lost the previous selection after you click on an other item.
The first column works properly.

Confirmed when using "Left mouse button selection mode", thanks!

Btw, the right button mode is better suited for touch screens now: You can hold down a finger on a name until the square appears, and then drag down to select multiple files.

Please retry with beta 5! Btw, it's now configurable in Configuration - Options - Operation.
