?[TC 8.50 b5] crash by connect to ftp server

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

?[TC 8.50 b5] crash by connect to ftp server

Post by *HEXer »

The function "connect to ftp server" crash in the step "200 Using ASCII mode to transfer data". The process (TC) must be killed by the task manager.
Software: Total Commander 8.50 Beta 5 - 32 Bit
Operation System: Windows 7 Professional ServicePack 1 - 32-Bit

- Total Commander 8.50 Beta 5 - 32 Bit under the operation system Windows 7 Professional ServicePack 1 - 64-Bit runs very well.
- Total Commander 8.01 - 32 Bit under the operation system Windows 7 Professional ServicePack 1 - 32-Bit runs very well.

So it only happens with the 32 bit version of TC 8.50b5 in combination with the 32 bit version of Windows 7 Professional ServicePack 1?
Does it happen with any ftp server?
When exactly does it happen (what are steps to reproduce)?
Can you create a logfile (see Configuration/options/FTP) and publish the logfile (remove any sensitive data).

1. Do you really mean "crash"? Or do you mean that it hangs (not responding)?

2. Can you post a log of the failed connection? I guess that you just need to switch to passive mode in the connection to go through a firewall.

@Christian
You are right. TC is hanging (not responding)

@Christian
I enable "Use passive mode by default", but TC hangs again.

Just a little note, the most useful part of the log is what follows after what you posted. With commands like PORT/PASV, LIST/MLSD.

I cannot see anything in the log which might be causing a hang. Maybe it's caused by some kind of personal firewall.
