When you change Configuration/Color options (for example enable or disable checkbox before Define colors by file type) and click apply, the color changes are applied to the listboxes in TC's main window. Also when search results are currently being displayed in the listbox.

Suppose you had previously enabled the checkbox before the Define colors by file type button. Now click the Define colors by file type button and make some changes. When you click the OK button in the Define colors by file type dialog, changes are applied to the listboxes, but not if search results are currently being displayed in the listbox.
