[8.50ß14x64] Command line seem to have an internal padding

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[8.50ß14x64] Command line seem to have an internal padding

Post by *Bluestar »

Hi,

A small GUI-related thing: the command line of x64 TC seem to have a small additional padding inside the command line editbox, so the user may think he/she accidentally hit a space before the command typed (or I am the only one? Its a bit hard to get used to the x64 version of TC after using the 32-bit version for more than a decade :D).

It is not a big deal at all, I just thought it may worth mentioning.

Compare: Image (x86) | Image (x64)

Regards,
Bluestar

Thats realy of no importance at all.
What is your problem using the x64 version of TC ?
There is no functional difference or other usage compared to the x86 version.

Unfortunately I have no idea where this comes from - both use the standard Windows combobox control.

I could not reproduce this with my work setup, but when I started TC with a clean ini file i could reproduce it.

It depends on the Main window font setting - for example it doesn't appear when using Microsoft Sans Serif or Tahoma, but it appears with Verdana or Segoe UI or Arial.

2Bluestar which font are you using?

It is really interesting why there is a difference. I started both TCs, both use same window position, both edits have same coordinates and sizes, same styles - and 64-bit one shows shifted text... Comboboxes differ only in styles WS_CLIPCHILDREN and WS_TABSTOP. Probably some subclassing brings the difference.
