Excessive CPU usage

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Excessive CPU usage

Post by *Resike »

Hovering the mouse over multiple folders, causing the tooltips to show/update using excessive CPU background usage for pretty much no reason.

First of all: Which operating system are you using? Which kind of TC (32 or 64-bit)?

What does the tooltip show for a folder in question?

This can happen when there is a slow third party shell extension for comments.

I use Windows 7 x64 and TC x64, the problem only occours when the Configuration/Display/Comments from Expoler (OLE2) is enabled. Well it's a 3rd party shell extension (From Windows), but i think it still should not slow down the program that much.

Here is a snapshot:

Sorry, I don't have any influence on this. You can try to turn off third party extensions with ShellExView (just search here in the forum for it).

It's not a context menu it's a tooltip handled by the explorer.

ShellExView can also be used to disable InfoTip handlers.
