Finding a way to autorename when copying...

Post by *batman4ever »

Hi, is there any way for TC to auto rename a file by itself when copying from one panel to the other?

For example, copying sunrise.jpg from C: to D: and if it already exists on D, to automatically copy the file with, let's say, the appendix of a letter or a number? Like sunrise1, or sunriseb, or sunrise_copy or something like that??

TIA

Hi!
Yes TC do that if when you copy files in the copy window you clic
-> Options
and select
->Auto-rename Copied
you can also select
->Auto-rename target files
that in my case is useful when you update a dile, let's say, a reference file(Ad aware) or a scan.def (f-prot antivirus file definition) and you want to conserve old version. :wink:

Thanks for the tip! But is there any way to set one of the options for good? For example, to always "auto-rename copied"???

Cheers
