Say, I have some ZIP archive (call it "parent archive") which contains some ZIP archive (call it "child archive") and some text files (in parent archive). This parent archive is in "C:\Files\" folder.
I unpack files with the mouse by dragging them onto "..". When I drag text files and drop them, they correctly appear in "C:\Files\" folder. But if I'd like to unpack the content of child archive (by, again, dragging and dropping), all this content is unpacked to "%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Temp\_tc\" - in other words, into TC's temp folder, which is incorrect behavior.
TC extracts nested archives to temp folder and open them there, and path is displayed to file in temp dir. So parent dir is temp dir.
I would prefer at all to make working with nested archives more transparent (do not show that they are from temp dir so parent dir would be top archive location)...
@MVV
I figured this behavior out just recently. It would make sense to extract inner's archive content into parent archive's folder - like for the other archive's content.
to extract inner's archive content into parent archive's folder
It is a bad idea: this folder may be read-only, and it is better not to leave garbage there.
Ну и к чему Вы это написали? I don't understand. I am talking about extracting files with mouse - I am not discussing whether the folder is read-only - it's another theme. Anyway, I am waiting for the author to response. Sorry.
