Compare by content protected files

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Compare by content protected files

Post by *SailorMax »

If try to view protected file with internal viewer, TC offer open it "as Administrator".
But if try to compare protected files, it just said "Access denied on files".

Steps:
1. open "c:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem\Repository\";
2. try to compare files in current directory with any other.

There is no need for Enhanced rights for files in this dir.
I can view or compare from this dir without problems.
UAC is set to Always notify.

I can view these files w/o elevation too.

However some TC features really don't work when elevation is required so I have to start elevated TC instance to do such actions.

Maybe it's because the compare tool maps the files into memory...
