Hello!
I have upgraded to windows 10 and installed TC 8.51a.
In the folder - C:/users/"my username"/Desktop - I actually cant see any of the icons that are on my desktop, just the files like txt or jpg, etc...
Is this correct? I mean I remember that commander used to show the icons too in this folder.
Also why does commander show here the Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Favorites, Pictures, Music... folders name in english and not on my native language?
Windows 10 + Total Commander 8.51a desktop folder bug?

First, your icons may be in all users desktop folder which is physically located in C:\ProgramData\Desktop\. I'm pretty sure that there are no great changes in W10 folder structure. However if it is so, it is strange because all files should go to user desktop folder by default.
Second, if a folder contains desktop.ini file (hidden and/or system) with LocalizedResourceName parameter, Explorer shows that string instead of real folder name - it causes different confusions (e.g. you see one path but breadcrumb bar click reveals another one, or like your question). TC always shows physical folder names.

For me under Windows 10 x64 C:/users/"my username"/Desktopdenjin wrote:Seem like it is some win10 magic, because desktop shortcuts are also not shown in windows file manager
shows most of my Icons from the Desktop.
A few of course are not shown because this are links
from the all users desktop !
So there is nothing new for me ugraded from Windows 8.1
That works, thanks. I just got used to see everything placed on my desktop from the user/desktop folder, thats why I'm missing this now.Horst.Epp wrote:To see all your Desktop entries in one place with Tc
use the triangel above a folder and select Desktop from the menu.
You will also see many more importand entries
which can be reached from this pull down menu
