Background operation window: Label for file count too small

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Background operation window: Label for file count too small

Post by *gdpr deleted 6 »

In the small window for background operations (such as deleting, copying, moving files, etc...), the label displaying the number of files deleted/copied/etc. (or displaying the number of remaining files) is too small for numbers larger than 100000.

Link to screenshot

The screenshot shows a background delete operation once with displaying the number of files having been deleted and once with displaying the number of files remaining to be deleted. The total number of files being deleted is greater than 154000 -- but the text label for the file count is too small and the text appears to be cut off.

It seems to me that the label could be easily expanded horizontally to match the width of the progress bar, thus being able to display obscenely large numbers :)

This is a known limitation, there is unfortunately no solution, sorry. The space is shared with the size field on the other side of the dialog.

Maybe I am thinking to simplistic, but to me the solution would be to make the window wider so that more space can be assigned display the amount of files copied/to be copied.

Ah yes, on the right side is the size field. The delete operation obviously not making use of that field tricked me into believing it being an empty unused space :o

It's a cosmetic issue and i won't lose any sleep over it :)
