[Reopened] [9.0ß2] DPI awareness and cut off dialog lines

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

[Reopened] [9.0ß2] DPI awareness and cut off dialog lines

Post by *deus-ex »

TC v9ß has improved awareness for high DPI environments which is great. Yet the spacing of many dialogs is too narrow, thus several lines are cut off on the right. Example: http://i.imgur.com/nT0ZFsu.png

What font size do you use for dialogs? You should use 8 or 9, and then use the custom DPI to make both the dialog and font larger.

Christian, thanks for the hint. I was using font size 10 for dialogs, reducing it to 9 fixed the truncation of dialog text.

I'd been also using 10 point but changed to 9 point and then use 106 DPI to enlarge both things. However, there is still something need to be adjusted.

Look the end of arrow closely. :)

Using dialog font size 9 and dpi 200 on a 3840x2160 display here.

I get the same view here with this parameters:

- Digital Display: 1920 x 1200 pixel
- Windows 10 Pro > 9-Pt Segoe UI, scaled to 125%
- Configuration > Font: 125 dpi
- Configuration > Font > Dialog box font: Segoe UI,9

Unfortunately I can't make the Everything checkbox larger because there is room needed to the right of it for "!" warn icon when it is checked.

The Everything checkbox is not the only concern, it's just an example. There are still many more dialogs that are truncated, and borders that are overlapped by other dialog elements (see example screenshots provided above). Can't you give the dialog framework simply more space by default?
