TC9 b1-b4 x64 menu bar color

Post by *Hacker »

Hi Christian,
W7 x64, TC9 (b1-b4) x64 (clean INI) menu bar color:
Normal
Maximized

How come the menu bar color is different when maximized? Only reproducible in x64.

EDIT: Found out this only happens on secondary monitor. I have a laptop hooked to an external display. The external display is the primary screen (bug not reproducible there) and the laptop is the secondary screen (bug seen there).
Also, 8.52a is not affected.

TIA
Roman

Although I only have one monitor, I can confirm this bug. VMware Workstation has a nice feature that lets you use multiple monitors even if you have only one.

I can only reproduce it when the secondary monitor is left from the primary:

Code: Select all

[2][1]
but not when it's the other way around (primary left, secondary right):

Code: Select all

[1][2]
[ADD]
There's even another bug: When you open the menu the font gets bold, and when you move through the menu (e.g. File to View) TC doesn't refresh the menu bar, so all menu items seem "pushed"/opened.
[/ADD]

Dalai,

I confirm my secondary screen (laptop) is left from the primary screen (external display).
There's even another bug: When you open the menu the font gets bold, and when you move through the menu (e.g. File to View) TC doesn't refresh the menu bar, so all menu items seem "pushed"/opened.
I confirm that! They even get more and more pushed and darker the more you move the cursor above them. You can even create a fun gradient effect. :D

I cannot cofirm either of your findings. The menu text is never bold here, it always uses the same font whether it is selected or not. Tested on Windows 7 and 10.

Christian,
Are you using two monitors, with the primary one being right and TC x64 being maximized on the left monitor?

I can confirm it also. The dark/bold is possible and also other strange effects can be "created"

I'm not using two monitors at the same time, just switching between two (PC screen and TV screen).

silencer,
Thank you! Also thank you to Dalai, as I forgot before.

Christian,
That's probably why you cannot reproduce it. :)

Sorry, haven't had the time to test that yet, the two screens are in two different rooms...

Do you use VMware Workstation? You could easily test it there by configuring the VM to use at least two monitors, and set the guest OS to enable them both. IIRC this has been working since the last couple versions (at least 7.x). I'm using Workstation 10, the last to run on Windows 32 bit host OS.

Remember to place the primary monitor on the left-hand side.

I'm using version 7.1.6. But I don't have a Windows 7 x64 guest, just Windows 7 32-bit, and Windows XP x64.

I could finally test it now, but the menu looks the same on the primary and secondary screen (maximized or not). Do you still have this problem with beta 11?
