TC9ß5 Descriptions and SymLinks Bug

Post by *brahman »

I can give a SymLink a description, but when I copy that SymLink to another folder (just as I can do with a file) the description does not travel with it.

Win10 x64 and TC x64

Set CopyLinks=1 or CopyLinks=2 in wincmd.ini; see TC help for details on the setting.

CopyLinks is set to 1 here. The TC help says this setting will copy junctions as links. This bug report is about symbolic links and they seem to be copied as folders using this setting.

I have tested this on Win7 and Win10 using beta 5 and 6 but it always works perfectly. So I don't see what was wrong and what exactly has been fixed.

It's about junctions to folders created e.g. with sysinternals junction.exe. When TC is configured to copy junctions, and you set a comment with Ctrl+Z, this comment will not be copied with the junction.
