Folder content not refreshed automatically

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Folder content not refreshed automatically

Post by *redfox »

The option to automatically refresh the folder content and total files count does not work in TC9. If I copy/move some files using another application (a game installer for example), the size and folder content is not updated, until I press the F2 key. It does not matter, if the TC window has focus, the result is the same.
It worked well in TC 8.52.

Related problem I think.
Rename doesn't sort the file/folder if TC is in background.
If TC regains focus file list is sorted again.

Working fine with auto update for me also when on bg! Make sure you have all the checkboxes on auto-update page in options enabled!

All options except

"Put added files at the END of the file list (default: sorted)" and
"Don't react to updates while in the background"

are enabled.
If a file/folder is added it is inserted in the correct sorted position.
If you rename the file/folder it stays in that position.

Behaviour is still the same. I have read somewhere that the behaviour I described is by design...

No, TC 9 and 8.52 should work the same here (and they do on all my test systems).

One thing to note is that Windows Vista and newer only notify programs about changed files when the file is closed. So you don't get any size changes during a file transfer or download until the transfer is complete.
