TC main window loses keyboard focus

Post by *TimoJ »

I have a problem with 9.0 versions, now using beta 12: I use AlwaysCopyInBackground=2 setting in WinCMD.ini and now when I move files, the main window is not active for keyboard input after the move starts or even after it ends.

Titlebar color is still indicating that the main window is active but the window is not accepting any keyboard commands. I have to use mouse or alt tab to make the window work again. For some odd reason this problem doesn't happen all the time, but still very often. I use just keyboard for these operations, so this is an annoying "feature".

Not confirmed. Can you give me more details, please?
1. Windows version?
2. Total Commander 32-bit or 64-bit?

Windows 10 Pro. 64-bit Total Commander.

I just switched back to 8.52a and will test few days to make sure that this isn't some weird Win10 "feature" in my system. I started using Win10 at about the same time when 9.0 betas arrived..

I'll do more testing with 9.0 if it's not happening with 8.52a.

It's happening also with 8.52a but not so often. What could cause it?

It happens if I just move (with F6) a subfolder with few small files (14MB) between root directories of two local HD volumes and use Tab to switch between the file panes and repeat this few times. With 9.0 it takes just 2-3 moves, 8.52a may take 10-15 before it happens.

Problem disappears if I change AlwaysCopyInBackground to 1.

Looks like this problem happens only with 64-bit version of Total Commander.

Please try with beta 13, it should be a lot better now. But I can probably not prevent it for every case.

Beta 13 seems to fix it for me. I was not able to make the problem appear with 64-bit b13. Thank you!
