1. Define a view mode that switches to thumbnail view and defines a background color.
2. Activate the new view mode
3. Open the settings again and change the background color.
4. Apply the change
5. One of the following thing happens
5a. The file panel is empty beside the bg color
5b. TC silently crashes
5c. TC shows a generic crash error message
5d. TC shows a crash message with stack trace:
