Custom columns name not change when changing the language

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Custom columns name not change when changing the language

Post by *Mikefield »

Not sure if it works as designed, or it is really a bug.
If the language of Total Commander is changed (DEU to ENG), the custom columns name (DirSizeCalc) is not changed. It's still Größe instead of Size.

Personally, I believe it works as designed.
But the field "Erw." (german) will be translated to "Ext" (english) in cases were CustomViews are used.

It's the nature of the user editable "Caption"/"Titel" field.
"Größe" or "Size" was only the initial suggested name from the plugin while you created a new column with "[=dirsizecalc.Size]".

If you decide to rename this to "# of Bytes", how should TC handles this later in case you switch to German UI language?
Ask a service like google translate --> "Anzahl der Bytes"?
Switch back to English --> "Number of bytes" != "# of Bytes"?
...

Indeed these are user-edited names, while the Name/Ext. columns are predetermined names from the language file.
