Any FTP or WebDAV server?
Hi, sorry, this is probably a FAQ, but I couldn't find an answer.
Does TC on Android provide any server for WebDAV or (S)FTP?
I mean the server should run on the Android device.
The FX app does provide such a WebDAV server. It displays the URL (of itself) and a one time password to connect to the Android device from another device or PC.
Is there isn't something like this, I'd like to put it onto the wish list.
Many thanks,
Helmut

My WiFi plugin is essentially a WebDAV and Web server. You can access it with any Web browser or WebDAV client.

Hi, thanks!
A short time ago, I have reported a bug with the WiFi plugin.
Here the scenario:
On the receiving site I have selected 'Copy to clipboard'.
Then I tried to paste it:
1st) into a folder on my external SD card
This fails with a 'write error'
2nd) into a folder on the internal SD card - this succeeds.
I'm using the current beta version, my phone is rooted running Android 6.0.1
and I've selected the option 'root functions everywhere'
Thanks for looking into this,
Helmut
P.S. This is a problem with the WiFi plug-in since Copy/Cut and Paste does
work just fine in 'normal mode'

You are probably using the external SD card via "add custom location". This is essentially like a plugin too, and copying between two plugins is very restricted. It should work when you set the WiFi connection in one panel, swipe sideways, and set the SD card in the other, and then use the copy button at the bottom.

No, TC displays my external SD card directly.ghisler(Author) wrote:You are probably using the external SD card via "add custom location". This is essentially like a plugin too, and copying between two plugins is very restricted.
Unfortunately, this doesn't work either. I always get a write error. It should work when you set the WiFi connection in one panel, swipe sideways, and set the SD card in the other, and then use the copy button at the bottom.
Both units run Samsung Android 6.01.
It should be possible since the FX file manager has no problems copying
files from one phone onto the external SD card of the other phone.

It works with the latest pre-release version here, can you try that please?
You can get it either from the play store or from our homepage.
Do not uninstall the previous version! Just install the beta on top. When you get it from the play store, this is automatic, and you will still get automatic updates in the future.

I have installed TC version 280b7 and WiFi plugin version 202.ghisler(Author) wrote:It works with the latest pre-release version here, can you try that please?

I still get
Schreibfehler
Fehler beim Schreiben der Zieldatei!
/storage/E2AF-0925/Doc/Test
What can I do to help debugging this problem?
Thanks,
Helmut

Sorry, no idea. Did you get the Android dialog where you have to pick the external SD-Card?

It looks like I had the same problem: tcandroid280b7.apk refused to copy files from FTP to SD, but allow copy them to internal storage and move them from internal storage to SD. Didn't show that dialog for picking SD. Root access and editing permissions.xml didn't help.
I installed tcandroid262.apk who showed that dialog (almost empty window with "recent files" or something, i don't remember), i selected SD from context menu and TC started copying files from FTP to SD. I installed tcandroid280b7.apk again - it still works.
It's works for me now, so i don't want to experiment with that.
Android 6.
