How to hide arrow buttons beside folder tabs?
I am using total commander 20 years (since it was called Windows Commander). All is fine, but recently, I've got an unexpected behavior. On the right pane, at the right hand of folder tabs, I see two arrow buttons, that helps to switch between the folder tabs. It could be helpful, if I have dozen of the tabs, but I have only 3. When I activate the 3rd tab, the first tab is getting hidden. I guess, that happens because of the arrow buttons. Is there a way to disable them? Btw, the left pane is working as expected, without any arrow buttons.

It looks like the option "all tabs have the same width" is checked in Configuration - Options - Folder tabs. Try unchecking it. It shouldn't show these arrow buttons, though...

Actually that option should be checked to hide these arrow buttons.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2019-09-23, 13:42 UTC It looks like the option "all tabs have the same width" is checked in Configuration - Options - Folder tabs. Try unchecking it. It shouldn't show these arrow buttons, though...

Could you please make the following setting for testing purposes:
and let us know if anything has changed?
Did the arrow-buttons disappear?

Code: Select all
Menu "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Folder Tabs":
☑ Tabs on multiple lines
Did the arrow-buttons disappear?

I have the same problem.
Perhaps the problem is only on high-resolution monitors.
For about 10 years I used TC 8.0 on a number of devices with resolutions 1366x768, 1280x1024, 1600x900, 1920x1080 - everything was fine.
I bought a new laptop with a resolution of 3200x2000 and this thing came out.
Then I installed TC 10.52, but the problem remained.
Option "All tabs have same width" is checked.
Arrows appear randomly as the number of tabs changes.
For example: 2 tabs - arrows appear, 3 tabs - arrows disappear, 4 tabs - arrows appear again, etc.
If I start changing the width of the program window (in window mode), arrows randomly appear and disappear.
And as the author of the topic wrote, when I activate the rightmost tab, the first tab is getting hidden.

Re: How to hide arrow buttons beside folder tabs?
I cannot reproduce that. When using the option "All tabs have same width", TC reduces the width of all tabs so they take less than the window width.Arrows appear randomly as the number of tabs changes.
Maybe you can describe a way to reproduce the problem? So far I couldn't.

Re: How to hide arrow buttons beside folder tabs?
Thanks for the video, seems to be some kind of rounding bug at 250% scaling. I never tested at this scaling because I can't even set it (175% seems to be the maximum).

Thanks for the answer.
The recommended scale (windows 11) for a resolution of 3200x2000 on a 15-inch laptop is 200%. And even that's not enough
225-250% - good.
