TC 9.5b1 - Crash on quick search
First start after manual installation of TC 9.5b1:
1. press TAB to change active file pane
2. press letter "d" to jump to first folder starting with letter "d" does not work, quick search appears to be non-existent
3. restart TC
4. press TAB to change active file pane
5. press letter "d" to jump to first folder starting with letter "d"
6. crash
7. return to TC 9.22a, no issues with the same procedure above
For me this was the shortest usage of a new TC release ever.

Re: TC 9.5b1 - Crash on quick search
Sorry, cannot reproduce. Tried on Windows 7 and 10. Can you give me more details, please?
1. Windows version?
2. Total Commander 32-bit or 64-bit?
3. Quick search method?
4. Do you use quick search extended?

Same issue here. Windows 10 1903, 64-bit, with Quick Search Extended.

Re: TC 9.5b1 - Crash on quick search
I see - could you try without Quick Search Extended? It probably fails due to the new controls used to support dark mode.

Just tried as advised - 9.5b1 still crashed without any tcmatch* file under the installation directory.

I cannot reproduce this either - are you using quick search with or without search dialog?

64-bit
AltSearch=3
Here's a crash report I managed to copy, I'm able to reproduce the crashing every time I try to use quick search. Choosing to continue will crash TC shortly after anyways.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2019-10-17, 07:58 UTC 4. Do you use quick search extended?
If you are referring to the plugin, no.

Re: TC 9.5b1 - Crash on quick search
My ini-setting is "AltSearch=3". A little dialog pops up at the bottom of the file panel once I invoke quick search, which is triggered by just typing in any letter or number, not using any key modifier like CTRL or ALT and SHIFT.petermad wrote: 2019-10-17, 09:58 UTC 2deus-ex

09.04.19 Fixed: Quick search with search dialog, switch away to other app and back -> cursor no longer displayed in file list (64)
Re: TC 9.5b1 - Crash on quick search
Hi all, Christian confirmed this issue in reply to my bug report email: "I was able to reproduce it now: It only occurs when using a high resolution screen." And it's not directly related to QuickSearch eXtended. Let's wait for the fix.

You can use the 32-bit version until beta 2 gets released, it doesn't have this bug.
