[OT] Electronic calendar/organizer software

Post by *pdavit »

I'm looking for an electronic calendar/organizer for my PC. I was wonder if you know which software out there is the best. I did a little research over the internet and I have two choices so far: WinDates and TaskPlus but I have no experience in this kind of software and I would like to know the best of the best out there before starting to get used to an electronic calendar.

Yes, that looks promising but I prefer a calendar-oriented software and not task-oriented.

I actually found this one which seems adequate: http://www.xemico.com/adc/

Very nice and from a well-respected source (that's you and the mozilla team ;) ) but: "The calendar requires the Mozilla Application suite, Mozilla Firefox, or Mozilla Thunderbird to install."

I'm driving on Opera! ;)

The calendar requires the Mozilla Application suite, Mozilla Firefox, or Mozilla Thunderbird to install.
Read it carefully: the calendar requires the application suite. Sunbird being the standalone spin-off should not require this.

You are right! I clicked on the Download link on the contents under calendar hence the misunderstanding.

Sorry Lefteous, my bad!

Hi pdavit,

if you're still searching I would recommend to have a look here:
http://www.palmone.com/us/software/desktop/
It is free. It is for Windows. Perhaps it could be of some use for you.

Have you seen this page in your research?

"An Overview of Windows Outliners"
http://john.redmood.com/organizers.html

Also "About this Particular Macintosh", a macintosh zine, has a number of articles on outliners, which may be more educational than directly applicable, but may be worth checking out:

http://www.atpm.com/10.02/atpo.shtml

Those are the best resources on outliners I know of. If you find any other pages, I would like to know! To really use an outliner, just like using a file manager, you have to put a commitment into it, and it would be nice to know that it's worth it.
