add RegEx support for Unicode PLZ

Post by *ottodostal »

Hi, I really need the the RegEx support for Unicode.

I am a lawyer and I have over 700 MB of court-decisions in MS Word (v2000) and I need to search in them rather complexly. I throught it would be possible in TC, but it isn't. :(

Unfortunately it isn't - the Regex libary which I'm using currently supports either Unicode or ANSI, but not both at the same time, sorry...

I don't understand why is it is needed to have support for unicode and ANSI at the same time. I want to search in unicode only at a time (or not?)?

AFAIU it would need another compile of TC.

Erm, is it even possible to search inside Word files? AFAIK it's not and it has nothing to do with unicode.

JackFoo: Of course it is! Try to view some .doc file created by Word 97 or higher (F3) and then switch to unicode (6). You can now directly see the text in Word files (and some crap too, but that is not a problem).

Same thing when searching. I am using it normally, the only problem is I cant use the RegEx in the search.

When not anything, I've learned one thing here on the Forums
Advanced regexp searches for free = Agent Ransack

Pleasantly it can do the regexp unicode thing... I searched already a "few" unicode Word files with it 8)

Still many thanks to the one person who recomended it first, who's name I can't remember  :)
Don't Panic! We have Total Commander...
