Problem with InstallExplorer plugin

Post by *JediSB »

First of all, I'm new to Total Commander. The problem I'm having is that this plug-in doesn't seem to decompress the files when it unpacks them. For example, I'm working with an EXE created with Eschalon Setup. When I unpack it, there is a .MDB file in it that is 681K when unpacked, and cannot be read by MS Access. But when installed using the installer, that same .MDB file is actually 14.5MB and can be read just fine. How can I deflate/decompress the unpacked file? (FYI- The unpacked file's properties/attributes do not indicate that it is compress either, which I found to be odd.)

What is the name of the program(and filename) you are trying to decompress?Sometimes installexplorer mixes up the filenames it extracts-sorting by filename (Ctrl+F3) or extracting all the files and finding the one you want by size might work.Testing the same file with installexplorer+far will show if the there is something wrong with the impementation of the plugin for TC.I never got around in doing it,but you can try :)

I just told it to unpack everything (*.*) from the EXE. The EXE is named wordstudy.exe. The files within it were wordstudy.dct (the MDB file with a different file extension), Script.bin, and setmn.dll.
