Once long ago I asked this:

In 6.5 multiple custom colmns are available for all kinda of stuff so my question is logical... :)

Is it possible to split the filename in more than one extension delimited by a period? I expect that someone will have to make a plugin, right?

You can try define your own file groups with FileX plugin. It is not exactly what do you want but some way to arrange such files.
