[sug TC6.50] change "The selected plugin has the same n

Post by *white »

While installing a plugin, when a plugin already exists with the same name but in a different folder the following text is displayed:
"The selected plugin has the same name, but is installed in a different dir. Remove it?"

I think this message is not very clear.
Suggestion: change the text into something like:
"An existing plugin was found with the same name, but is installed in a different directory. Do you want to remove it?"

I agree.
I'm a Hungarian living in Tokyo, but have spoken mostly English for the last 7 years... so may I suggest a slight modification:
"An existing plugin with the same name was found in a different directory. Do you want to remove it?"
Sounds a bit more "natural".

Native English speakers?

I'd say you pretty well nailed it. I'd probably say:

"A plugin with the same name (already) exists in a different directory. Do you want to remove it?"

Then it's all in once tense, and a touch shorter (since it has to fit on a confirmation dialog).
