Office plugin

Post by *Munango-Keewati »

Can someone please tell me how to adjust the Office plugin (office.ini file, I think) so that in addition to displaying Word *.doc files through Ctrl + Q, it will also display *.wbk (backup) files? I think this should be a simple matter of inserting the proper string along the lines of

1=wbk,D0CF11E0A1B11AE1,mswrd632.cnv

in the .ini file, but that doesn't work. (I'm using Word XP on Windows 2000.)

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Try setting full path to mswrd632.cnv, i.e. 1=wbk,D0CF11E0A1B11AE1,<your path>\mswrd632.cnv and see if that helps.
Also check that the HEX-string D0CF11E0A1B11AE1 matches the first 8 chars of the wbk header.

The signature is optional so you can leave a blank place there, i.e.:
1=wbk,,mswrd632.cnv

BTW: I told (in another thread) that it works ok for me, but I have mswrd832.cnv at my computer.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried them all, but unfortunately none of them work on my machine. Another of the mysteries of life!

officeview behaviour

Post by *dBLOOD »

Its not working for me
I don't have macroshit office installed, and i don't want to install it, just to view doc files
The necessary converter files are in the officeview dir
Tried with no path, %COMMANDER_PATH%, and giving absolute path into ini
None worked, only if i had MSOffice installed...
What could be the problem? :-(
