Uninstall Windows/Total Commander - silently!

Post by *dnapper »

Hi All,

I know some will ridicule me for wanting to uninstall this super app.,

But.. working as a system administrator I am required to uninstall the shareware version, to be in-line with company policy.
(It will also serve as leverage to force the long awaited procurment of the product)

This uninstall has to be acomplished with a login script, Without user interaction.

The uninstall program provided cannot be run silently,

Does anyone have an idea how it can be done?

regards,
David.

Identifying the elements installed when installing TC is a good start.

As far as I can remember, the installation only copies the files to a directory, writing two keys to the registry and creating shortcuts.

Why not just make a batch file that reverses this process - it should be pretty simple to do so.

It can also create .ini files in Windows or users directories.
Additionaly there can be ini files of some plugins created.

Of course the best solution is to force the boss to purchase some copies of TC ;-)

As one of our member says: "Memo to Boss: No TC, no work" :-)
