Command line focus issue
Hi!
After some experimenting with TC's command line I noticed the following strange behavior: if you type smth in command line, then move the focus to another one element (say, by clicking on some file or folder) and then put the cursor back to the command line all the contents of the command line becomes selected.
Is this intentional? This behavior causes several problems. There is an example: if you use some clipboard extender (which grabs the focus from the command line for a moment) you can't paste smth to command line and then paste some additional info because the first pasted text becomes selected and is replaced when pasting again...
In 'ordinary' Windows world the text in the input field is selected when user double-click on it: try the Windows Run menu (Win+R) as an example...
What is the reason of such an uncommon TC command line selection behavior?

Look, the cursor is on TC Command line. Now I press the hotkey to invoke the Clipboard extender popup. Now I'm selecting a clip to paste in this popup. But when the focus comes back to Command line all the previous text is command line becomes selected and replaced with the new clip.Sir_SiLvA wrote:this is default behavior - what about pressing the key "End" bevor STRG+V again :p
There is just no time to press 'End' or some other key...

No! I'm not talking about switching windows with Alt+Tab. Do this:btw is windows deafult behavior!
Win+R -> enter some Text -> ALT+TAB to anather task -> alt+tab to the WIN+R-Window -> Text is selected....
Win+R -> enter some Text -> ALT+TAB to another task -> come back to Run Window by clicking in the input field with your mouse. Is the text selected? No.
And it will be selected if you perform these steps with TC Command line...

sorry but the moment you invoke your CBE its the same as if you change the prg with ALT+TAB
so tc's behavior is default windows behavior
How about first calling your CBE and than press Pos1 and inserting whats missing ?

This is default behavior - test it with Internet Explorer or Explorer.
If you want test behavior with "Run" window you must:
1. enter some text
2. focus on "Cancel" (or other) button - click but not release, move out of the button, release,
3. click in combobox - text is selected !

Yes, thank you. I checked this: the TC Command Line behaves exactly as IExplorer or Explorer input fields - so, when user cliks in the input fileld the text becomes selected. And if I try to paste different clips from the clipboard extender, the new clip replaces the previous one.
The input field in the Windows Run menu behaves a little different. At least it allows me to paste different clips from the clipboard extender without replacing the previous one.
Personally, I think the Windows Run Menu behaviour suits better for command line. So, I just wanted to know - what are the benefits of not using this behaviour.
Thank you!

Yes, it's standard edit control behaviour - you need to click on the line first to activate it, and then again to position the cursor.
