Aptoide version

What's the deal with app versions on Aptoide as opposed to Google Play versions? Are they to be trusted or not? For example, I have the latest official version of Total Commander for Android, 3.20; however, on Aptoide it says they have 3.21b1. Is that official from Christian, or some fork?
