Hello,
I started to migrate some of my old truecrypt containers to veracrypt containers. Both are mounted as a drive, like N: or M:
On the dropdown box for drives I can see only the drive names/caption of the old Truecrypt containers.
In Explorer everything is fine.
I use Totalcommander for decades now, fine tool. Thanks!
Best regards,
David.

Re: Veracrypt mounted container have no description in drive-dropdownbox
I'm using GetVolumeInformation (in the Unicode version) to get the volume label. I'm not aware of any other functions I could call, and I don't know why Veracrypt wouldn't return the label, sorry. Maybe it expects a path without trailing backslash, e.g. g: but TC sends it with trailing backslash, e.g. g:\
Have you tried to set a label via Commands - Volume label? Maybe the Explorer only shows a replacement text because there is no label.

Re: Veracrypt mounted container have no description in drive-dropdownbox
Ha! This works. It requests admin-priviledge, but then I see the changed label also in Explorer.
And once I did it with Totalcmd (for this container), I can rename it in Explorer to something else and see the changed label also in Totalcmd. Strange.
I have several containers, and once I not rename all with Totalcmd, it was empty.
Something is different in the way how, but its ok, as I know how to handle it.
Best regards,
David.

How did you set the label initially? Through Explorer, or some kind of setup function in Veracrypt itself?
