New Plugin: WDX MP3Info

Post by *aziemer »

Hi Folks ...

Finally, after many months of abstinence, I have written a new plugin :D

It is a WDX plugin, displaying info about MP3 files. After looking at other available MP3 and ID3 plugins I decided to write my own, because for me they either were too slow or had too less features.

So my plugin is fast and has some additional features - just give it a try 8) download

Very nice, thanks. :)
You should link it on totalcmd.net, too. Otherwise many users will miss it.

@aziemer: Great work! Just one my opinion on it:
http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/AudioInfo.html can
can also show the Duration of a Audiofile
(apart from showing infos for more than mp3s :))
AND it adds a vertical Scrollbar your plugin doesnt...

So, nice work (especiall to show if a files has id3v1/2tag)
but as AudioInfo shows more nothing for me :)
Hoecker sie sind raus!

And I use Media.wdx because it has its own base so the load of information is much faster

Keep cool guys 8) ...

I'm still working on it - at present on a user definable outputformat via INI file. A beta is available here.
Size display is already done (if VBR its first estimated, by pressing <SPACE> it gets calculated, as well as the min, max and average bitrates).
Docs and LNG file are not absolutely up to date, but should be usable for now.

@ADv: Thanks again for you russian translation! Maybe you could look again at the LNG file when I'm ready so far?)

Please try it - I'm waiting for your responses and suggestions!

So...
A new version is available here! It has some corrections and additions.
The most interesting addition is the user-definable field. Now you may ask "Why user definable, thats what TC already has builtin?" :?: :?:
The answer is: right, but if your try to generate some useful info being displayed as tooltip window when you rest your mouse on a MP3 file can become impossible, as TC has limits on the size of the definition string - and they are static!
With external definitions you can as well define, that different info has to be shown i.e. if the MP3 is VBR, or display differently if ID3v1 or ID3v2 tags are present! :P
Some sample definitions for a tooltip are included.

Greets,
Andy

P.S.: I like those smilies...

@ergo: I was waiting with "broader" release until the first bug reports come in - but yet only comments, no bugs (can this be???) - but... so, yes, please do so!

Version 1.5 is available

- Fixed bug, where reading of MP3s without ID3v2 tag was stopped too early
- Completed WMA handling

Available still here

@aziemer:
Please remove creating of debug.txt, it's rather annoying.
Like mentioned on totalcmd.net you have forgotten to include MP3Info.txt in your newest release.
It would also be nice if you would move the MP3Info.ini to the directory where MP3Info is installed or offer an option to move it there. I don't like the mess with different INIs in wincmd.ini directory.

Thanks
