CD tree search keys are reversed if entered too early

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

CD tree search keys are reversed if entered too early

If I call CD tree (Alt+F10) and start entering a directory name before the tree is shown (due to a large tree and a slow network mount through a VPN…), the entered characters appear in reverse.
E.G. I enter abc [pause for tree buildup] d, cbad might appear.
